Tresa Bolingtonhouse

Success Story

Tresa Bolingtonhouse has always been active, enjoying activities like riding her motorcycle and shopping.

Diagnosed with bacterial meningitis, a serious infection, Tresa lost her ability to speak and her mental status declined. While receiving treatment in a hospital for the infection, she fell and broke her ankle, which was followed by two mini-strokes in a senior living center. She returned to the hospital for two weeks before her neurosurgeon recommended that she receive specialized rehabilitative care at Bloomington Regional Rehabilitation Hospital.

“The therapy team and nursing staff are extremely encouraging,” Tresa says. “Patient care technicians Bri, Jessie, and Jessica have especially had an impact on my recovery.”

Tresa looks forward to riding her motorcycle again and going on a cruise in the Bahamas with her family this June.

“After the cruise, I want to do whatever I want,” she says. “After being in hospitals for so long, I’m looking forward to everyday life and activities.”
